The 4 hour road trip was all worth it as the North Shore Mustangs finally got their first shutout of the year by defeating the Beauce Dragons 24-0 last Saturday afternoon improving their record to 6-0
The Mustangs started the scoring in the first quarter on a pass to rookie receiver Zach Goldstein to make the score 7-0.Veteran wide out Jelani McLaren scored the second TD of the game on a pass from QB Max St. James to round off the scoring for the first half increasing the score to 14-0.
Rookie receiver Daniel Perrault kicked a successful field goal to open the scoring in the 3rd quarter to lead the game 17-0. The final touchdown was scored on a 30 yard run by QB Max St. James on a broken play to end the game with a 24-0 score.
Defensively DBs Alex Grace and Chris Watson had an interception each which helped the Mustangs get their first shutout of the year.
Offensively, the O-Line was strong again and noted performances by QB Max St. James receiver Jelani Mclaren and kicker/receiver Daniel Perrault who went 100 %.
The Mustangs next game is Friday October 2 @ 7pm when they visit Laurentian at Parc Ducharme. |
